Survival in the Kalahari Desert is difficult; all inhabitants live in the shadow of the ghost lion. Home to the Black-maned Kalahari lion as well as leopards, cheetahs & caracals. Irridecent gold represents the African sun reflecting off the red Kalahari soil. Finished with multiple layers of resin protecting the work from UV light and potential fading. The colours and gold leaf will remain vibrant even when placed in direct sunlight, where this piece is most spectacular.
